President’s Newsletter for August

It’s August and the Summer is almost half over. We continue to have a number of events on the calendar, but I think the number of events could be expanded with a few more alumni volunteering to be coordinators. In particular, Dinner in the Home and Gatherings were always popular activities and are badly in need of someone to step up and coordinate them, which isn’t a hard task. (I know I’m nagging here, but hey – I’m a grandpa and I’m good at it.)

I am pleased to announce that the Board has voted to establish a new Interest Group for Skiers, coordinated by Helen Bemis. Ski events will be day trips to venues along the Front Range. If you would like to sign up or would like to learn more, please visit the Interests Page.

Usual reminder that all members are welcome to attend board meetings, which will be held every other month on the first Wednesday at 1:30pm. Meetings will be in the conference room at FNBO Bank, 155 Boardwalk Drive.  Next meeting is on September 3.

And it’s not too early to think about serving on next year’s board. A nice way to feel good about serving your club and also to make new friends.
